THEME
My name is Robert Chandler. I am 14 years old. I was born in Arco, Idaho, but obviously moved to Portland later. I like to sit in my room and do nothing, nap, be outside, hang out with friends, and play video games. On nice warm days I like to lie down in my driveway that lacks a car. I constantly dye my hair to make my life more interesting. I got into ceramics in sixth grade and I really like being able to create anything that I can think of in my mind using my hands. I hope that I can find a way to continue to create next year.
I am experimenting with the theme: caves. I enjoy creating things that one might find in a cave, or finding a way to relate something to caves that one normally wouldn’t. I enjoy making flowers with bright colors and putting them on my ceramic work.I also use dark colors to show the dark and damp feeling of a cave. I also like to experiment with different kinds of teeth. Flowers don't seem to relate to caves much, but if you think about an unexplored cave you could find anything. I feel like the lack of humans in caves make them better or more grand in some way. I like to create things that one normally wouldn’t see, so I feel like a flower in a cave would be a very amazing flower. The fact that caves are often times unexplored opens my capstone to anything I want really, but I try to stay somewhat close to my theme. I picked my theme because I wanted something that wasn’t cliche, and would interest me a while.I don't really feel attached to the idea of caves, or have any amazing reason that I chose caves. just is what it is.
My capstone theme is caves along with the overall theme COLOR.
The idea behind my cave theme is making creatures or random things you would find in a cave. The overall theme color will be tied in by having cave like colors like dark purple and all shades of grey and some black.
